Entry for Contest

AGE 2-5
Including those in Kindergarten

We are looking for original artwork created independently by your child with the topic of learning as the theme. The guidelines here are simple:

Submission must be entirely original work, either drawn or painted. The prompt is to tell your child to draw what they think learning to read looks like. It can include a classroom view, parents and kids, or whatever the imagination permits.

The drawing must include a separate description. The parent can write up the description however it must be a transcrip-tion of the child’s exact description, in their own language and vision.

The winning artwork will be featured on our company web-site and all subsequent social media accounts, and may also be included in a future pub-lication! The winner also receives a prize basket of fun and educational materials and a 50% OFF voucher of a month of Early Childhood Learning at THINK&Co., if interested!

AGE 6-8
in grades 1 through 3

We are looking for an original written piece by your child in response to:

“If you could teach other kids the most important things about learning to read, what would they be? What are some suggestions you have for other kids learning to read?”

Must be entirely original unguided and unedited work, written by your child. Spelling and grammar help in the decision process but are not deal-breakers so please do not write it for your child, provide assistance, or edit their work prior to submitting. We will know if work is not originally written by a child and will disqualify the submission.

The writing must be at least one full standard page, written by child. Please assure everything is legible.

The winning writing will be featured on our company website and all subsequent social media accounts, and may also be included in a future publication! The winner also receives a prize basket of educational materials and a free evaluation for advanced learning or tutoring at THINK&Co., if interested.

AGE 9-10
in grades 4 through 5

We are looking for original short stories by your child with the following prompt. Write a short story about one of the following topics:

– learning to read;
– reading in the places around you;
– the best reading teacher ever;
– how reading well has helped me;
– how reading can be fun.

Must be entirely original unguided and unedited work, written by your child. Spelling and grammar help in the decision process but are not deal-breakers so please do not write it for your child, provide assistance, or edit their work prior to submitting. We will know if work is not originally written by a child and will disqualify the submission automatically.

It should be between 5 and 10 pages, handwritten, or 3 and 6 pages typed.

There will be two winners for this section, first place and runner up. The winning writing will be featured on our company website and all subsequent social media accounts, and may also be included in a future publication! The winners receive a prize basket of everything a little author may need and 50% OFF of the first month of creative writing lessons, if interested. The first place winner will also get to work with one our teachers at a personalized, two-hour workshop to help create illustrations and make a beautiful, hard cover version of their story to take home!
